Bullet Cloth
“Bullet Cloth” is a combination of the traditional technique of tie-dyeing and of a contemporary material, a bullet. I started using wax instead of thread and a bullet instead of beans. I am indicating the contemporary issues dealing with oppositions. Bullets can be exploded to destroy; beans can sprout to grow. What a contradiction! A further contradiction is that a bullet as an object has a beautiful surface and form combined with the idea of incredible and deadly power.
I have been experimenting the similar ideas using hand made paper and polyester fabrics using heat transfer that is one of the contemporary shibori techniques.
